Marie F. Seifert, 59 , died Monday, December 24, 2001 at St. Michael’s Nursing Home, Sauk Centre after losing her fight with cancer. Services will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Grey Eagle for Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A luncheon will be served at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall following the committal service at the cemetery.
Friends may call Friday at the church chapel from 3:30 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Marie F. Seifert was born May 28, 1942 in Graceville, Minnesota to Francis J. and MaryAnne R. (Blasey) Seifert. She was a life long member and active on many fronts in the St. Joseph’s Community. She ran her own cleaning service, grew a variety of indoor and outdoor flowers (particularly roses), maintained both a vegetable garden and apple trees. She also did a lot of sewing, creating many beautiful patchwork quilts. The last quilt she made, while fighting cancer in the nursing home, was a gift for a baby girl.
Survivors include her siblings, twin sister, Mary Anne Schroeder (Bernie) of Lancaster, PA, their children, Cindy, Tim Tom and Craig; sister, Trudy McCornack (Jirah) of Albert Lea, their children, Albert, Melissa and Aaron; brother, Chuck Seifert (Diane) of New Hope, their children, Heather and Jason; brother, Jim Seifert (Margie) of Valencia, CA, their children, Kristen and Katherine; brother, Tony Seifert (Maddie) of Cerritos, CA; sister, Agnes Jensen (Jim) of Villard, their children, Sheila, Shawn and Samantha; sister, Loretta Winter of Kerkhoven, and her children, Nancy, Rodney, Lyle and Steven; brother John Seifert of Bertrum, and his children, Andrew and Nicole; brother, Richard Seifert (Cheryl) of Grey Eagle, their children, Jessica and Joe; sister, Pat Seifert of Maple Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and MaryAnne (Blasey) Seifert and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Casket bearers will be Albert McCornack, Aaron McCornack, Steve Winter, Jason Seifert, Donnie Peschel, Lyle Winter and Andrew Seifert. Cross bearer will be Joe Seifert. Honorary bearers will be her nieces and nephews.
