Gary Leo Revering

November 27, 1952 - August 7, 2002

                Gary L. Revering, age 49 of Burtrum, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Rev. Arlie Sowada will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

                Friends may call from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.

                Gary Revering was born November 27, 1952 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota to Raymond and Loretta (Buschke) Revering.  He was united in marriage to Joyce Ahrens on July 22, 1972 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Prior to moving to Grey Eagle in 1976, Gary was a meat cutter at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. He then was employed at the Melrose Meat Shoppe for 15 years.  Since 1987 Gary owned and operated the Golden Eagle Supper Club of Burtrum.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Gary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and the Grey Eagle/Burtrum Lion’s Club. He was a former member of the Grey Eagle Volunteer Fire Department.

                Survivors include his wife, Joyce Revering of Burtrum; children, Melissa Terres and her husband, Mike of Melrose and Michael Revering and his wife, Laura of Melrose; two grandchildren, Jenna Terres and Ashley Revering; mother, Loretta Revering of New Munich; brothers and sisters, Michael Revering of New Munich, Renee Kampsen and her husband, Clarence of New Munich, Roman Revering of St. Cloud, Sandy Wiegenant and her husband, Larry of Hammond, Wisconsin and Wayne Revering and his wife, Kristie of St. Joseph.

                Gary was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Revering on June 15, 1987; infant brother, Raymond Jr. and his grandparents.

                Serving as casket bearers will be Stuart Ahrens, Steven Ahrens, Jeff Ahrens, Jamie Ahrens, Jesse Graves, Jeremy Graves and Jesse Kampsen.

                Serving as cross bearer will be Nathan Wiegenant with Timmy Ahrens and Ryan Ahrens as gift bearers.

                Arrangements are with Patton-Schad Funeral Service of Grey Eagle.
