Arnold Henry Raeker

Arnold Raeker, age 86 of New Munich died November 28, 2002 at his home. Funeral wake will be Sunday, December 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.
Funeral mass will be Monday, December 2, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. St. Joseph’s Society will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Arnold Raeker was born September 6, 1916 in New Munich, Minnesota to Herman and Agnes (Altendahl) Raeker. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Schulte on May 6, 1941 at Sacred Heart Church, Freeport, Minnesota.
The couple farmed near New Munich. Arnold enjoyed farming, visiting with relatives and friends and reading, especially “how to” books and history books.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rosemary Raeker of New Munich. Children: Roland (Rita) Raeker of Inver Grove Heights, MN., Eileen (James) Davenport of Richfield, MN., Jerome Raeker of New Munich, MN., JoAnn (Robert) Hanson of Burnsville, MN., Luella (Philip) Korth of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Melvin (Denise) Raeker of Eagan, MN., Alcuin (Jane) Raeker of Melrose, MN., Dorine (Edward) Connelly of Bloomington, MN., and Richard Raeker (special friend Linda) of New Munich.17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also survive Arnold.
Arnold Raeker was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Agnes Raeker and his sisters, Ann Fuchs and Elizabeth Fischbach.
Arnold's grandchildren will be serving as casket bearers, cross bearer and scripture bearer.
