William "Squig" Majerus

August 7, 1977 - December 30, 2002

William “Squig” Majerus, age 25 formerly of Melrose, died on Monday, Dec. 20 at the St. Cloud Hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose. Rev. Steve Hayden will officiate with interment following in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church in Melrose on Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Squig Majerus was born on August 7, 1977 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Steven and Patricia (Holland) Majerus. He was raised in Melrose and attended Melrose High School. He had been involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and had been a member of the Junior High swim team. Squig enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, traveling and skateboarding. He had a love for the night and enjoyed stargazing.

Survivors include his father, Steve Majerus of Alexandria; mother, Patricia Holland and Mark Woeste of Grey Eagle; daughter, Jewelle Monet Finken-Majerus of St. Cloud; brothers, Travis Majerus of Alexandria and Steven A. Majerus of Grey Eagle; sisters, Victoria Majerus of St. Cloud and Libby Kircher of Grey Eagle; grandparents, Melvin and Pat Millard of Birch Tree, Missouri, William and Mary Holland of Delta, Pennsylvania; great grandparents, William and Elsie Spangler of Smithsburg, Maryland; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He joins his friends, Kip Ulrich and Ryan Hill; grandparents, Leo and Hildegard Majerus; and aunt, Alvina Beckermann.

Serving as casket bearers will be Steve Majerus, Steven A. Majerus, Travis Majerus, Daniel and James Millard and Ross Kopel.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
