Marchell "Ma" Lieser

August 13, 2001 -  December 5, 2001

        Marchell “Ma” Lieser, age 44 of Spring Hill, died on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spring Hill. Rev. Leo Leisen will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church in Spring Hill.  Christian Women of Spring Hill will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. on sunday.

           Marchell Lieser was born August 13, 1957 in Melrose to Wilfred and Lucille (Nathe) Athmann.  She lived in Shoreview and worked for her uncle, Ralph Nathe at Club 49 until moving to Spring Hill in 1988 and purchasing Ma’s Place.  She was united in marriage to Danny Lieser on December 28, 1995 in St. Cloud.  She sold her business in 1999 and began working for Pan-O-Gold Baking Company in St. Cloud.  “Ma” was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spring Hill. She enjoyed her family and friends, gardening and her pets.

           Survivors include her husband, Danny of Spring Hill; her mother, Lucille Athmann of Spring Hill; step-children, Joy Lieser and her fiancé, Jason of Paynesville, Sara Lieser of Paynesville, Kayla Lieser of Paynesville, Scott Lieser and his fiancé, Kelly of Hawick, Rick Lieser of Hawick and Kristi Lieser of Minneapolis; step-grandson, Brady Lieser; brothers and sisters, Patrick Athmann and his wife, Bev of Hanover, James Athmann and his wife, Mona of Richfield, Brenda Athmann of Mounds View and Sandy Hellickson and her husband, Dave of Brooten.

           She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Athmann on August 8, 1999 and grandparents, Joseph and Susan Athmann.

           Serving as casket bearers will be Scott Lieser, Rick Lieser, Jason Hellickson, Steven Hellickson, Rob Hopfer and Tim Hopfer.

           Serving as cross bearer will be Amy Hellickson and scripture bearer will be Sara Lieser. Christian Women of Spring Hill will serve as honorary bearers.

           Arrangements are with Patton Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
