Funeral
services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose for
Marjorie Kemper, who died Thursday at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 10:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad
Funeral Home in Melrose.
Marjorie Kemper was born in Getty Township, Stearns County, to Frank and
Josephine (Ackerman) Pesheck. She
married Leo Kemper on October 26, 1943 at Saint John’s Catholic Church in
Meire Grove. The couple farmed near Melrose until 1982.
She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, gardening, playing cards,
crafts, quilting and crocheting. She
was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose, where she spent many
hours doing volunteer work, Christian Mothers, and the Monday Afternoon Solo
Club.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Kemper of Melrose; children, Lucy
(Walt) Rau of Sauk Rapids, Karen (Bill) Massmann of Melrose, Dave “Whitey”
(Sharon) Kemper of Melrose, Dorie (Al) of Champlain, Maggie (Ken) Thull of Long
Prairie, Sharon Kemper of Minneapolis, Mary (Kevin Rutherford) Kemper of
Rockford; grandchildren, Cindy, Paul, Brian and John Massmann, Todd and Tom
Kemper, Erik, Steve and Becky Heinen, Missy and Mindy Thull; great
grandchildren, Taylor and Taryn Kemper, Dakota and Adrian Massmann.
She was preceded in death by twin brothers, Jim and Vern Pesheck.
