Elmer B. Imdieke

October 5, 1920 - December 6, 2001

           Elmer B. Imdieke, age 82 of Meire Grove, died Thursday, December 6th at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.  Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, December 10th, at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Meire Grove.  Rev. Ken Popp and Rev. Ken Thielman officiated, with burial following in the parish cemetery.

           Elmer Bernard Imdieke was born October 5, 1920 in Meire Grove to Frank and Margaret (Worms) Imdieke.  He married Ann Marie Welle on September 5, 1944 at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Meire Grove.  The couple farmed in Grove Township, Stearns County, until their retirement in 1981.  He was a member of Saint John’s Catholic Church in Meire Grove, Saint Joseph’s Society, Holy Rosary Society, and the Melrose Knights of Columbus.

           Survivors include his wife, Ann Marie Imdieke of Melrose; children, Patricia Kroeger and her husband, Earl of Minnetonka, Elaine Wenning and her husband, Lloyd of Plymouth, Frank Imdieke and his wife, Jan of Melrose, Mary Bertram of Paynesville, Margaret Silbernick and her husband, Mark of Greenwald; sisters, Evelyn Vangstad of Washington, Olivia Dabrowski and her husband, Bill of California, Helen Cahill of Alaska; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lenore Nolan; grandson, Michael LeClaire.

           Serving as casket bearers were Stacy Imdieke-Fofana, Patrick Imdieke, Jason Silbernick, Joseph Bertram, Leah Bertram, Carrie Silbernick, Paul LeClaire, and Katie Bertram.  Cross bearer was Scott Kroeger.  Honorary bearers were the Saint Joseph’s Society.

           Arrangements were made by Patton-Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
