Monica A. Hinnenkamp

June 11, 1912 - May 22, 2002

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at  St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose for Monica Hinnenkamp, age 89 of Albany, who died Wednesday at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Rev. Vince Lieser will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers and Legion of Mary will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Melrose.

Monica Hinnenkamp was born on June 11, 1912 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to Henry and Bernadine (Scherping) Herzog. She was united in marriage to Leo B. Hinnenkamp on October 10, 1933 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. The couple farmed in Melrose Township, stearns County for 40 years before retiring in 1973 and moving to Melrose. In 1989 she moved to Rose View Manor. Since 1998 she had resided at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, lifelong member of Christian Mothers and member of Legion of Mary. She loved to quilt and play cards and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Agnes (Jerome) Wuebkers of Upsala, Ralph (Doris) Hinnenkamp of Melrose, and Dorine (Greg) Nowak of Dayton; five grandchildren,  Charlene Hohmann, Kevin Wuebkers, Keith and Ryan Hinnenkamp, and Kristen Nowak; four great grandchildren, Russell, Jason and Kathy Hohmann and Brianna Wuebkers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo B. Hinnenkamp on December 5, 1986; infant son, Robert in 1945; brothers, Fred, John and Joseph Herzog; sisters, Julia Herzog, Veronica and Rose Notch.

Serving as casket bearers will be Keith and Ryan Hinnenkamp, Kevin Wuebkers, Kristen Nowak, Charlene and Frank Hohmann with Kathy Hohmann as cross bearer and Donna Mae Scholz as scripture bearer. Honorary bearers will be member of Christian Mothers and Legion of Mary.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
