June 12, 1922 - December 6, 2002

Lorraine A. Heinen, age 80 of Melrose, died Friday, December 6, 2002 at her home in Melrose. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.  Tuesday, December 10th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose. Rev. Vincent Lieser will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 11a.m. on Tuesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.  Daughters of Isabella – Joan of Arc Circle of Melrose will pray at 4:30 p.m., Christian Mothers will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. on Monday.

                Lorraine Heinen was born on June 12, 1922 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to Frank and Mary (Toenyan) Bruggenthies.  She was united in marriage to Raymond Heinen on November 4, 1940 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa, MN. They lived in St. Francis for three years. They moved to St. Rosa for four years and resided in Melrose the rest of their married years. Lorraine was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose, Daughters of Isabella-Joan of Arc Circle of Melrose and the Christian Mother’s Society.

                Survivors include her five children, Mary Lehnen of Roseville, Harlin Heinen and his wife, Sharon of Savage, LouAnn Danielson and her husband, Robert of Phoenix, AZ, Judy Servatius and her husband, Randy of Melrose, Daniel Heinen of Melrose; daughter-in-law, Marlene Heinen of Melrose; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Roman Bruggenthies and his wife, JoAnn of Grey Eagle, Alcuin Bruggenthies and his wife, Margaret of Rochester, Robert Bruggenthies and his wife, Ann of Burtrum, Albert Bruggenthies and his wife, Doris of Minneapolis and Irene Stawarski of Minneapolis.

                Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Bruggenthies; husband, Raymond Heinen on December 22, 1996; son,  LeRoy Heinen on June 23, 1995; sisters, Angeline Haller and Alma Marty.

                In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Michael’s Hospice.

                Serving as casket bearers will be Don Haller, Adam Bruggenthies, Alcuin Bruggenthies, Craig

Servatius, Kevin Heinen and Jeff Lehnen. 

                 Serving as cross bearer will be Melissa Massmann and scripture bearer will be Tammy Braegelmann.

                Arrangements are with Patton- Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
