Virgil John Dickinson

April 8, 1927 - June 24, 2002

                Virgil J. Dickinson, age 75 of Howard Lake, died Monday, June 24, 2002 at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home in Howard Lake. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 27th at Patton-Schad Funeral Home Chapel in Melrose.  Rev. Vincent Lieser will officiate with a private inurnment Friday, June 28th at Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud.

                Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.

                Virgil J. Dickinson was born on April 8, 1927 in Waite Park, Minnesota to Raymond and Matilda (Heinz) Dickinson. He married Mercede M. Czarnowski in 1961 in St. Cloud. He worked as a farm hand on other people’s farms. Virgil was employed by Landy Packing in St. Cloud and later by Gopher Lumber in St. Cloud. He retired in 1972 due to a disability.  He was a resident of the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home in Howard Lake. Virgil enjoyed fishing and working with arts and crafts.

                Virgil is survived by his sisters, Beatrice Ramacher and her husband, Mark of Paynesville, Irene Boldt and her husband, Ralph of Paynesville, Dorothy Prevost and her husband, Russell of Ocala, FL, Betty Lou Dickinson of Melrose and Donna Mae Frank of Melrose.

                He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Matilda Dickinson; brothers, Elmer, Raymond Jr., Donald, James Robert and Paul Dickinson; sister, Viola Dickinson.
