Raymond "Ray" Ceminski

May 6, 1924 - December 5, 2002

Raymond “Ray” Ceminski, age 78 of Long Prairie, died on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 9th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Long Prairie. Rev. Mark Stang will officiate with interment following in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Grey Eagle.

 Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Long Prairie.

 Ray Ceminski was born May 6, 1924 in Melrose, Minnesota to Mike and Rose (Kroll) Ceminski. He lived at home with his parents in Grey Eagle until he was 13 years old. He moved to Fairbault for 35 years and in 1972 he moved to Brainerd for 5 months. After a short stay in Brainerd, he moved to Little Falls where he stayed for 15 years. In 1987 Ray moved to the Todd County Group Home in Browerville where he was employed by Todd County Developmental Achievement Center in Browerville. Ray enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He attended senior citizen activities regularly in Browerville. In 2000 he moved to Meridian Services Home in Long Prairie and continued working at Developmental Achievement Center. Ray attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Long Prairie.

 He is survived by his nieces, Marianne Slaikeu and her husband, Craig of St. Paul and Rita Riemer and her husband, Dennis of Fargo, ND; nephews, David Ceminski of Long Prairie, Dennis Ceminski of Park Rapids and Dan Ceminski of Wahpeton, ND.

 Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Rose Ceminski; sisters, Irene Zahn; brothers, Frank, Jerome and Ervin Ceminski.

Serving as casket bearers will be Marianne Slaikeu, Craig Slaikeu, David Ceminski, Diane Smieja, Marguarette Norwood and Janlin Tomford.

Serving as cross bearer will be Jeni Swanson and gift bearers will be Elaine Crider and Peggy Sandelin.

Honorary bearers will be Art Zones, Bruce Ebnet, Brian Stave and Craig Riske.

 Arrangements are with Patton-Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
