Catherine Lucy Brown
February 12, 1919 - October 30, 2002
Catherine L. Brown, age 83 of Grey Eagle, died on Wednesday, October 30,
2002 at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be
held Monday, November 4th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey
Eagle. Rev. Arlie Sowada will officiate with interment following in the parish
cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Monday at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle.
Parish prayers will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the church.
Catherine Brown was born on February 12, 1919 in Otter Tail Township,
Otter Tail County, Minnesota to Charles and Mary (Breen) Williams. She was
united in marriage to George Brown on July 3, 1946 in Glenwood, Minnesota.
Catherine was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. She
enjoyed gardening, quilting and reading.
She is survived by thirteen children, Ann Brown of Edina, Theresa
Springer of Tucson, AZ, Lorna Taketa of Lompoc, CA, William Brown of Grey Eagle,
Helen Larsen and her husband, Tryg of Minneapolis, Cheryl Olsen and her husband,
Bob of Trumbull, CT, Alice Hart and her husband, Jim of Osprey, FL, Kimmitt
Brown of Spring Valley, Stephanie Foster and her husband, Wayne of Devil’s
Elbow, MO, Sandra Nelson of Coon Rapids, Bernadette House and her husband, Randy
of Spring Valley, Norbert Brown of Grey Eagle and Felicia Hunt and her husband,
Jim of Minneapolis; Sixteen grandchildren; brother, Charles Williams of
Englewood, CO.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary
Williams; husband, George Brown in September of 1990; one granddaughter; three
sisters and three brothers.
Serving as casket bearers will be Randy House, Wayne Foster, Matt Foster, Bob Olsen, Tryg Larsen and Jack Nelson.
