Ronald "Ron" Brinkman
July 28, 1938 - February 14, 2002
Ronald “Ron” Brinkman, age 63 of Grey Eagle, died on Thursday, February 14, 2002 at the St. Cloud Hospital from a long battle with lung disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 18th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Rev. Bernard Gruenes will officate with interment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Ronald Brinkman was born July 28, 1938 in Swanville to William and Ludwina (Pundsack) Brinkman. He was united in marriage to Lou Ann Moening on June 17, 1961 in Melrose. The couple owned and operated the Junction Convenience Store in Grey Eagle. They were the founders of the new housing development in Grey Eagle. Ron was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and of the Grey Eagle/Burtrum Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann Brinkman of Grey Eagle; children, Cindy Athmann and her husband, Jeff of Plymouth, Thomas Brinkman and his wife, Mary Jo of Grey Eagle, Beth Gessell and her husband, Romie Jr. of Grey Eagle, Tina Schwieters and her husband, Pete of Ramsey; seven grandchildren, Andy, Emily, Alex, Weston, Evan, Lauren and Erik; brothers and sisters, Loretta Pfiefer of Melrose, Eugene Brinkman and his wife, Mary Lou of Grey Eagle, Anna Mae Layton and her husband, Joe of Silverton, OR, Glorian Linn and her husband, Jim of Sauk Centre, Eileen Sprenger and her husband, Ronald of Arvada, CO, Stan Brinkman and his wife, Arlene of Grey Eagle.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Brinkman on January 14, 1994.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joe Benolken, Marvin Brinkman, Gerald Woida, Aaron Brinkman, Dick Pfiefer, Alan Sunderman, Sarah Burg and Mike Matchinsky.
Serving as cross bearer will be Andy Brinkman and scripture bearers will be Weston Brinkman and Emily Gessell.
