Eleanor
M. Botz, age 91 of Freeport, died on Saturday, August 17 at the St. Cloud
Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Interment will be in Sacred Heart
Cemetery.
Family
and friends may call from 5 – 9 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home
in Freeport and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Christian Mothers
and Golden Years Senior Citizens will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers
at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred.
Eleanor
Mary Botz was born on August 14, 1911 to Henry and Agnes (Overman) Laing. She
was born, raised, educated and lived most of her life in Freeport. She married
Anthony (Tony) Botz on June 30, 1930 and they had six children. Eleanor was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Doris (Daniel)
Baltes; and her sister, Alvina Peterson.
She
is survived by her children, Joan (Pete) Herges of Albany, Inez (Dwight) Kirscht
of Phoenix, AZ; John (Yvonne) Botz of Freeport, Carl Botz of St. Cloud and Susan
Enright of Minneapolis; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sisters,
Louise Uphoff of New Munich and Rosemary Gowan of St. Cloud.
Serving
as casket bearers will be John, Carl and Chris Botz, Peter and John Herges, Mark
Baltes, Chip Kirscht and Amy Enright. Cross bearer will be Katyie Baltes and
scripture bearer will be Jane Barton.
Eleanor
was the head and the heart of her family. She will always be remembered for her
quick-witted humor, goodness and kindness. She loved her family and they in turn
loved her and will miss her greatly.
