Al C. Beuning

August 26, 1922 - November 13, 2001

       Al Beuning, age 79 of St. Rosa, died Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Melrose Area Hospital.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB will be officiating with Rev. Art Hoppe concelebrating.  Interment will follow in parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. on Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Patton Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.  Parish prayers will be at 8p.m. followed by prayers from Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus, Council #1633 at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

       Al Beuning was born August 26, 1922 in Millwood Township, Stearns County to Joseph and Mary (Reller) Beuning. He married Esther Korte on June 18, 1946 in St. Rosa, MN. Al retired from a lifetime of farming in 1996 and maintained roads for Millwood Township for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa, Holy Name Society and Honorary Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1633. He also served as an eucharistic minister, usher and trustee for the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

        Survivors include his loving wife, Esther Beuning of St. Rosa; children, Joe Beuning and his wife, Bev of New Richmond, WI, Urban Beuning and his wife, Arlene of St. Rosa, Bernie Beuning and his wife, Linda of St. Cloud, Ada Daniel and her husband, Gerry of Golden Valley, Michael Beuning and his wife, Judy of St. Rosa, Geralyn Ottum and her husband, Greg of Eden Prairie, Mary Niehaus and her husband, Butch of Melrose, Paul Beuning of St. Rosa, Earl Beuning and his wife, Lisa of Waconia, Sara Toenies her husband, Steve of Melrose; 26 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sister and brother, Erma Wilhelm and her husband, Al of St. Paul, Ray Beuning and his wife, Arlene of Tacoma, WA.

        Al was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Georgianna in 1954; infant daughter in 1960; brother, Ralph Beuning in 1993.   

        Serving as casket bearers are Al’s sons, Joe, Urban, Bernie, Michael, Paul and Earl Beuning.

        Serving as cross bearer is Craig Beuning and serving as honorary bearers will be Holy Name Society.

            Arrangements are with Patton Schad Funeral Service of Melrose.
