Online Webmail
Have you ever had this problem? Your email seems to be stuck, or you receive only “some” of the messages but not all? Have you ever received the same message over and over again in your email program? The next time you have these types of problems try using our convenient “Webmail” program. This program is free and easy to use. All you need to do is open up Internet Explorer, type in the URL address of: http://mail.meltel.net. Just be sure when typing in the address you do not put a "www" in the address. You will not be able to get to this site if you do.

Because this is a secure site for checking your personal mail, you will be required to login. Enter (in the appropriate spaces) your username and password. Once you are logged into the mail system, and you can check your email online. From here you can read mail, delete mail, send mail and change your account preferences

If your email seems to get held up while downloading a message, there is probably a message in your mailbox that is very large. You should find this message, read it, save it on your computer if you wish, and then delete it so it does not continue to give you problems. This is also a good rule to follow if your email seems stuck. There is probably an email that is corrupt.

Webmail also works for you if you are away from your own computer. It allows you to check your mail from anywhere where there is Internet access. This comes in handy when on vacation, or just out of town on business.

Joke of the Month

A man walks into a butchers shop and inquires of the butcher:
Are you a gambling man?
The butcher says "Yes", so the man said: "I bet you $50 that you cant reach up and touch that meat hanging on the hooks up there"
The butcher says "I'm not betting on that",
"but I thought you were a gambling man" the man retorts.
"Yes I am" says the butcher "but the steaks are too high".

Question and Answer

Q: What are the different type of viruses and what do they mean?

A: There are three different means for a computer infection: A virus is a tidbit of programming code that will piggyback on  computer programs that are either installed, e-mailed or downloaded from the Internet onto your system. Every time the program runs, the virus can then jump onto other programs and create numerous problems for your system. A worm is a little piece of software that will use networks and security holes to copy itself.  Once the worm has search the network and found another hole in the security system, it will duplicate itself on the next machine.  A Trojan Horses is simply a computer program that says it does one thing, but actually does major damage when you run the program.  Unlike worms and viruses it does not automatically duplicate itself.
