HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!
I would like to apologize to the Macintosh users for forgetting them, so
in the March issue of 'Netline News I have added some selecting tips for
the Macintosh user.
Spring is approaching us fast and with the interest rates as low as they
are, many people are deciding to build. So I thought it would be
helpful to direct you in the right direction with a website that allows
you to view thousands of different floor and house plans. I have
also added a link where the United States citizens can send a thank you
note to our military groups! Plus, many more informational and
entertaining websites. Enjoy!
I am always looking for ways to improve 'Netline News so if you have
any suggestions please let me know! netnews@meltel.net

When calling your local help desk and you receive no answer or you get the voice mail, it would be wise to leave a message. The technicians check the voice mail throughout the day and
will return messages as soon as they can. So, when the voice mail kicks in, please leave a message. They will get back to you!

MAC> Selecting
Tips!
With a window open in icon view, a single click of the mouse lets you select one item (a folder or document). By holding down the Shift key, you can select multiple items.
If you’re in list or column view, however, holding down the Shift key has a different effect: selecting every item between your first and second click.
So how can you be more selective about your selecting?
In “Mac OS X Killer Tips,” available from the Apple Store, Scott Kelby tells you how:
“In List or Column view, to select multiple items that aren’t contiguous, just hold the Command key and click on each item. Click on any open space in the window or press Escape to deselect all selected items.”

& Answers |

Q: Why do I lose my Internet connection if I am on line and receive an incoming call?
A: You can randomly lose carrier if you have a phone system with call waiting and you have not disabled call waiting through a software
setting. This will not always cause loss of carrier, but it can sometimes. **Important** For this feature to work correctly you have to have disable call waiting service from your telephone company.
1. Choose Start, Settings, then Control Panel.
2. Double-click on the Modems icon. Click on the Dialing Properties button.
3. Check the box that indicates you have call waiting. From the drop-down menu behind the call waiting box select the call waiting disable string, which is typically *70.
4. This will disable call waiting prior to making your Internet call and prevent an incoming call from disrupting your active Internet connection. You can also dial the *70 when you are making an important telephone call and don't want to be interrupted.
