Welcome back and I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter!  We are at the time in the season where it is too mucky outside to do your favorite outdoor activities and it is too nice outside to stay indoors. Be patient, soon the white stuff will be all gone, the ground will be dry, the golf courses will be open, and we will have the beautiful Spring weather we have been waiting for (lets hope)!

With the release of Windows XP there is an issue with the set up of email in Outlook Express. Most of the new computers that are currently available on the market are sold with Windows XP preinstalled, here is just a pointer on something to watch out for when setting up your new machine. What happens is when you try to send email you have to always reconnect to the Internet in order to send the message. The version of Outlook Express that comes with Windows XP has “hang up after sending and receiving mail” enabled as a default. What you will need to do is disable this option.

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Go into your Tools menu and go to Options.
  3. Click on the Connection tab near the top of the options window.
  4. You will see the “Hang up after sending and receiving box checked.
  5. Uncheck this box, click Apply, and then click Okay.

If you are having troubles with disconnects when you check your mail, this would be one thing you could check. If you continue to have problems feel free to contact our Help Desk.

 Tech Tips & Tricks

A Cookie is:

A very small text file placed on your hard drive by a Web Page server. It is essentially your identification card. The Cookie purpose is to tell the server that you returned to that Web page.

Internet Explorer 5 finally has some better way of dealing with Cookies. The settings for cookies in Internet Explorer 4 is located on the Internet Options > Advanced tab, and so there was only a "Global" setting.

In Internet Explorer 5 the cookies settings are found on the Internet Options > Security tab. This means that you can now selectively accept cookies from certain sites; just add the site from which you want to accept cookies to the Trusted sites zone, and use the Custom level button to change your settings, including the cookies setting.

Internet Explorer 5 also distinguishes between "per session" cookies and "normal" ones. "Per session" cookies are set for just the one session, but they are deleted when you finish the session.

 Humor Is Good Medicine

Children were lined up in the cafeteria of a local Catholic school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, "take only one, God is watching."

As they moved through the line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A boy wrote a note, "take all you want, God is watching the apples."

A young child asked a woman how old she was. She answered, "39 and holding."

The child thought for a moment, then said, "And how old would you be if you let go?"

A little boy wasn't getting good marks in school.

One day he made the teacher quite surprised. He tapped her on the shoulder and said.......

"I don't want to scare you, but my daddy says if I don't get better grades....... somebody is going to get a spanking!"

ABC's of SUCCESS
Avoid working just for power and money.
Be honest, reliable, faithful, and aggressive.
Choose your friends carefully.
Don't be afraid to take risks.
Establish goals and work systematically toward achieving them.
Free rides don't exist.
Get it done.
Have confidence that you can make a difference.
Invite constructive criticism.
Just doing enough to get by, won't get it done.
Keep from making excuses.
Listen, learn, and always work to improve your mind.
Mean what you say, and say what you mean.
Never, ever give up on your dreams.
Only one person can control you, and that's you.
Pray.
Quality, not quantity
Respect others.
Sometimes, slow down and smell the roses.
Treat others with respect, and they'll respect you.
Use your assets wisely.
Voice your opinions
Work us hard as possible, without forgetting your loved ones.
Xpect obstacles, but accept challenges.
You are always in charge of your own actions.
Zap obstacles and reach for the stars

Points to Ponder

So when it says 14 servings on a 15 oz jar of Salsa Con Queso does that mean 14 people that try it once and don't like it.

How do you know honesty is the best policy until you have tried some of the others?

If FedX and UPS merged would they call it FedUP?

If a tin whistle is made out of tin (and it is), then what, exactly, is fog horn made out of?

If quitters never win, and winners never quit, who came up with, "Quit while you're ahead"?

Would a fly without wings be called a walk?

If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is he homeless or naked?

Why is it that when you transport something by car, its called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's called cargo?
